American Sign
Language
American Sign Language , is considered to be one of the
most refined and complete sign systems in the world. As part of our
introductory course, students will become competent in
signing basic conversation using finger-spelling (the use
of hand positions to represent the letters of the alphabet),
a vital element of manual communication. Students will
also learn visual hand movements of the American Sign Language
that represent more than single words. These elementary
signs will allow students to effectively communicate with
deaf using signs that represent ideas or expressions. Our
course will also introduce, Gestuno, an international sign
language that crosses national barriers and permits communication
with deaf persons of different countries.
